Asbestos in Schools

The asbestos litigation lawyers at Williams Hart have heard many stories regarding how people were tragically infected with any of several diseases that asbestos exposure has been known to cause. Specifically, these diseases have included:

The list above is not exclusive, but these three conditions are by far the most debilitating and carry the most negative prognosis, as there is no known cure for any of them, and the patient’s only option is to attempt to maximize the quality of life that remains.

Below is another location that has been found to contain this substance, and if you have been exposed and want to understand your rights, contact the asbestos litigation lawyers at Williams Hart for a free initial consultation.

A Location to Consider – Older School Buildings

Asbestos was a substance that was used quite often in many buildings during the mid 20th Century, and these buildings included schools. After news, studies and statistics began to surface regarding the potential dangers of asbestos exposure, and also because of the damages sought by asbestos litigation lawyers, the material was no longer used in areas where potential exposure was a reality.

However, and unfortunately, stories continue to come to the forefront regarding new discoveries of asbestos, and the latest discovery occurred in June of 2007, where asbestos was discovered in a school building in Baltimore.

What this all means is that if your children are enrolled in a school whose building is at least 30 years old, you need to ask those in charge whether or not asbestos was ever used and if so whether it was ever removed. Doing so could eventually save your child’s life.

If you have been exposed, contact the asbestos litigation lawyers at Williams Hart immediately for a free consultation.
