Study finds talcum-based cosmetics may contain asbestos

A recent study is claiming that some talcum powders and products contain asbestos, an article on seattlepi.com reported October 31.

Experiments conducted by three U.S. researchers confirmed that people are at risk of inhaling asbestos fibers from using cosmetic talcum powders. The link between talc and asbestos has previously been suspected, but this study traced the asbestos from the lungs of a woman with mesothelioma, matched it to her cosmetic products, and traced it back to the mine where the talc was collected. Talc is present in thousands of products, including makeup, baby powder, feminine hygiene products, doctor’s gloves, and balloons. The study was published last month in the International Journal of Occupational and Environmental Health.

The legal team of Williams Kherkher understands that many people suffer fatal illnesses from unknowingly inhaling harmful asbestos contained in cosmetic products. If you believe that this has happened to you, we may possibly help you secure your much needed medical funds from negligent parties.
