Man exposed to asbestos seeks compensation

A retired worker in Royston, United Kingdom is seeking compensation after developing an illness caused by asbestos, according to a report released on Monday, October 14.

According to reports, 65-year-old Alan Kendall has pleural thickening, what he says is a result of doing his job. For more than 30 years, Kendall was exposed to asbestos while grinding up small bits of asbestos and mixing it with cement. Kendall believed he was already affected by the asbestos before it was replaced with a safer material.

A legal counsel for Kendall said his client is seeking compensation due to the fact that his retirement is being threatened by his illness. Kendall is currently suffering from lack of breath and dry cough, his attorney also said.

In the United States alone, there are numerous people who have suffered serious and life-threatening harm due to asbestos exposure. While this is a devastating situation, many victims are able to get compensation and justice for their suffering from the party who negligently exposed them to the asbestos.
