Mesothelioma Victim’s Widow Files Lawsuit

Geraldine Seavoy of Michigan, IL filed an asbestos suit on September 3 against 41 defendants, including Celotex Corporation, Sprinkman Insulation Inc, and Sprinkman Sons Corporation. She is claiming that her husband’s death from mesothelioma was wrongfully caused. Geraldine has filed a case on behalf of her late husband, Daniel Seavoy, who passed away on January 13.

Daniel worked as a deckhand at Wilson Trust in Great lakes, IL from 1957 until 1960, and as a millwright and maintenance supervisor at Celotex Corporation in L’Anse, IL. During this period he worked as an assembly line worker, freight car worker, maintenance worker, plant mechanic, and maintenance supervisor. The suit states that during the course of his employment, he was exposed to and inhaled, ingested or otherwise absorbed asbestos fibers from certain products manufactured or distributed by the defendant companies. As a result he contacted mesothelioma.

In a six count lawsuit, Geraldine is seeking sums in excess of $150,000 for economic damages, $50,000 for punitive damages and $100,000 for compensatory damages.
