Asbestos Suit Filed in Madison, IL

Geraldine Kruemmelbein, the wife of Robert Kruemmelbein, filed an asbestos-related lawsuit filed in Madison County Circuit Court, Illinois on August 20 on behalf of the estate of her late husband, claiming that her husband’s disease was wrongfully caused by exposure to asbestos. Robert Kruemmelbein was diagnosed in September 2005, and later passed away from the disease in December 2006.

He worked as a laborer at Duncan Foundry and as a maintenance worker at Dow Chemical during the period 1950 to 1960. He also worked as a machine operator for Owens-Illinois Glass between 1960 and 1993. During the course of his employment he was exposed to asbestos fibers from the products made or supported by the defendant companies. Geraldine Kruemmelbein is seeking at least $350,000, which includes $50,000 in damages and at least $150,000 in compensatory damages. The lawsuit also seeks punitive and exemplary damages.
