Various claims of negligence were recently filed against the school district in Paterson based on environmental concerns, including using improper mold and asbestos removal, a December 7 article of nj.com reported.
According to reports, Brenda Zemo filed the complaint against her former employer due to concerns that the department was negligent about making sure asbestos removal was properly executed by certified personnel in several school facilities. She worked as an Environmental Occupational Health and Safety Officer at the time. Zemo is accusing her former executive director, Steve Morlino, of disregarding her concerns about the mishandling. She faced a hostile work environment and was terminated from her post after filing the claim.
