An employee of Kilgore College claimed that staff and students have been exposed to asbestos on the campus for several years, the Longview News-Journal reported on November 19.
College Facilities Director Dalton Smith reportedly was ordered to conceal asbestos-laden building materials on various areas of campus. Smith, who was a college staff member at Kilgore for 12 years, said that many parts of the school contained asbestos where people were likely exposed. College spokesperson Chris Craddock, on the other hand, stated that they were not aware of any asbestos-related violations within the school.
The results of prolonged asbestos exposure are severe and may include the cancer mesothelioma. The medical expenses associated with treatment of any asbestos-related illness or condition can be extremely high. If you believe you have contracted mesothelioma or are suffering from other aspects of asbestos exposure due to the negligence of someone else, the attorneys at Williams Kherkher may fight on your behalf.
