The estate of a former BNSF Railway employee has now filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the company after it alleged the man was exposed to the carcinogen, asbestos, while he worked there.
According to the lawsuit, the man worked in the New Mexico and Arizona company facilities for nearly 13 years and worked with asbestos-containing products with not any type of protection against the products.
The lawsuit claims that the exposure lead to a serious disease that later caused his death. The man died of asbestosis and he was not diagnosed with it until 25 years after his exposure.
