A New York jury has awarded a man $2 million as a result of a mesothelioma lawsuit.
According to the lawsuit, the man worked at Durez Plastics in the compound department where he frequently dealt with airborne asbestos materials while handling molding mixes.
The lawsuit is against a Canadian mining company for allegedly failing to warn workers of the potential harm in being exposed to the material. The man has now been diagnosed with peritoneal mesothelioma and the jury sided with his claims that the company was at fault.
