14 companies were recently cited as defendants in a mesothelioma lawsuit filed in the Kanawha Circuit Court in West Virginia. The suit was filed by a man from Canonsburg, Pennsylvania who had been employed by several companies in West Virginia before being diagnosed with mesothelioma.
Mesothelioma is a rare form of cancer that is caused by exposure to asbestos, or inhalation of asbestos fibers. Symptoms of mesothelioma generally do not begin to appear until several decades after the exposure to asbestos.
The lawsuit claims that the companies failed to properly warn the worker of the dangers of asbestos and asbestos-related products, failed to place warnings on containers, and failed to inform him of the proper safety equipment.
