The family of a nurse that worked at three Columbus, Ohio hospitals and passed away after contracting mesothelioma has filed a wrongful death mesothelioma lawsuit against 26 companies in Meigs County Common Pleas Court in Ohio. Mesothelioma is a rare and aggressive form of cancer that occurs in the lining of the lungs, heart, chest and other internal organs called the mesothelium.
According to the filing, Margaret Valentino contracted mesothelioma from working with absetos containing products at the hospitals. Valentino worked as a nurse at Mount Carmel Health, St. Anthony Hospital and St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville in the last 1960's and into the early '70's. She passed away two months after being diagnosed with mesothelioma in June 2009.
The suit holds 26 companies negligent for Valentino's illness and death, product liability, breach of warranty, conspiracy and willful misconduct.
