A California jury has awarded a couple $208 million in a mesothelioma case.
According to the suit, the wife was exposed to asbestos fibers from her husband's work clothes which caused her to develop mesothelioma. Her husband was working for Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and his job duties included cutting water pipes that were made of asbestos cement, produced by a company called CertainTeed Corp. Therefore, asbestos fibers were released on the man's clothes.
