A Kansas City man was diagnosed with mesothelioma and died six months later. He was unable to be deposed for his own law suit against the three companies that manufactured and distributed the asbestos tiles that he spent years installing and working with. However, his family was able to continue the litigation for him.
In June, the case came to a close with the jury ruling in favor of the family. The companies were ordered to pay $4.5 million in damages for exposing the man to asbestos and causing the development of his mesothelioma. They did not warn their clients of the dangers associated with their products.
