In Vermont, two companies have been cited by the US EPA for asbestos violations. Trust of Colcher and CRC Excavation LLC of Middlesex have been working on a demolition project involving two residential buildings in Essex Junction. According to the EPA, the companies violated asbestos regulations during the project.
The companies are accused of failing to check for asbestos before demolition, failing to notify the EPA of the project, and removing and disposing of nearly 75,106 pounds of asbestos material improperly. There has been no word of injury from the project, but workers and the public were put at risk.
