Defense attorneys for WR Grace and their former executives have rested their case as of Tuesday morning. The lead prosecutor for the government called one rebuttal witness after the defense rested. According to Judge Molloy, jurors should receive the case for deliberation by Thurday at the end of the day. This assumes that closing arguments take only one day.
In the defense's final witness examination, one defense attorney accused a Libby resident of lying on the stand. According to the resident, he bought a tract of land from WR Grace without knowing about the asbestos on the land. According to the defense attorney, the man was in full knowledge of the contamination of the land when he bought it.
