The talc contamination in Korea has affected 1,122 products made by 120 companies. All but 11 of these products have been recalled by the Korean government because those 11 do not have any "suitable substitute". For the next 30 days, those 11 products will remain on the shelves while replacements can be found.
The asbestos containing pharmaceuticals that will remain on the shelves include allergy medicines, treatments for hyperpiesia and children's respiratory medications. The Prime Minister's Office is trying to develop comprehensive measures and standards to keep asbestos contaminated talc from being imported.
