The defense attorneys in the WR Grace trial tried to undermine the testimony of Environmental Protection Agency witness Dr Aubrey Miller. After Miller gave an assessment of the EPA's arrival and response to the Libby contamination, the defense attorneys cross examined, trying to cast a shadow of doubt on Miller's credibility.
The defense pointed out discrepancies in Miller's scientific analysis and accused Miller of covering up information that might have hurt the prosecution's case. This information, according to the defense, included documents stating that there were no hazards associated with breathing in the ambient air in Libby.
